My instinct is that if not Islamic it will be labelled as mental illness or cannabis psychosis.

The scariest thing would be if this was just anger.

Oliver Cromwell rounded up huge numbers of irish Catholics to work as slaves on the Caribbean plantations. Many will have interbred with the rest of the population. The descendants of those who lived apart became known as the 'red-legs'.
It accounts for the modern accent in Jamaica.

The alleged shouts of AA would have been earlier during the attack.

But while we are on the subject of the "Kill me" shout, is it fair to ask what sort of person may wish to die or be martyred at that point? Are there any beliefs or philosophies that promote this?

We can't trust our politicians or our media. We are better off joining the dots for ourselves.
 
The problem here is that we know we can't trust the government, police or news media from previous experience.

It is a cry wolf situation. Now we suspect everything and more importantly, we may never get to know the truth and might not believe it even if we do.

Less amusing, the attacker was black but his motive remains unclear.

If it is e.g. mental illness, his colour is effectively irrelevant (Dunblane, Hungerford etc.). If he is an Islamic convert, then it might be (but ruled out by police).

Let's wait and see.

There seem to be a lot of Black people with mental illness.

I wouldn't compare your examples to something like this, unless you think it was premeditated.
