Grooming gangs

The establishment machine involved in all this is rotten to the core.

It's mostly left/progressive but by no means exclusively.....though the Tories are more guilty of ignoring it than of the enablement and inaction on the ground....arrests of fathers and so on (many institutions are guilty)....incredibly in some cases actual involvement in the abuse.

We have been saying for years that justice hasn't been done here and....we have had defenders of the establishment embarrassing themselves on Hol as well....what they wrote was disgusting as it defended the response.

Most of us know that real justice won't be done until the real right wing takes over. Hopefully that is Reform, but we will have to see.

Then those that betrayed those girls.....and are still betraying them today, will get the justice that is due.

The government are trying to engineer the collapse of the enquiry before it starts thereby keeping potentially embarrassing info from being made officially public.

Interesting angle. Never thought of it like that. They were clearly reluctant to launch it in the first place so perhaps this does have some legs? Lets see. And as others have remarked, there is a LOT going on at the moment, with this entire China spying debacle beyond comprehension. Still blown away by the head of MI5 making the intervention he did.

The entire system of Governance are guilty of all sorts on this. Suspect that one day, and I have very little faith in it being Reform, when a truly Right Wing government comes to power then there needs to be a day of reckoning. In many ways I am actually angrier with the white people who enabled these grooming gangs to operate with seeming impunity for decades than the gangs themselves. They are just barbarians. My rage is aimed at those who opened the gates for them and then just let them get with it.

100 f***ing percent.

They want to stall to the next election.

It just becomes more and more farcical.

Maybe this is deliberate after all?

I am genuinely at a loss now to make out what the hell is going on. Can this Government actually DO anything right? Is it a conspiracy or just a plain old cock-up?

Never forget.

Never forgive.

I asked Grok a question from something shocking I heard.

Is it true that one of the Rotherham grooming gangs raped a young girl with a broken bottle? She was so injured that she now can't have children. Is it true that this was one of the kind of things that authorities tried to keep from media exposure?

Verification of the Specific IncidentYes, the claim appears to be true based on survivor testimonies and investigative reporting from the Rotherham child sexual exploitation scandal. Multiple accounts from victims describe extreme violence, including assaults with broken bottles that caused severe, life-altering injuries, such as infertility due to damage to reproductive organs.
  • In survivor stories documented in books and media, one girl (often anonymized but referenced in collective testimonies) was raped with a broken bottle by members of a grooming gang, leading to such extensive internal injuries that she required emergency medical intervention and was later informed she could not conceive children. This detail aligns with broader descriptions of "degrading and violent" acts in court records from Operation Stovewood, the National Crime Agency's investigation into Rotherham abuses (1997–2013), where victims reported being subjected to objects like bottles in assaults. For instance, a 2018 BBC report on convictions under this operation noted girls enduring "acts of a degrading and violent nature," and survivor memoirs (e.g., Violated by Sarah Wilson, a Rotherham victim) echo similar brutalities, including mutilation-level violence causing permanent harm.
  • The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Exploitation in Rotherham (Jay Report, 2014) estimated 1,400 victims and detailed how girls as young as 11 faced "extreme threats, violence, rape, and trafficking," with some assaults involving improvised weapons. While the report avoids graphic specifics to protect victims, follow-up investigations (e.g., 2022 IOPC's Operation Linden) confirmed "uncomfortable" patterns of police-recorded violence, including object-based rapes. A 2025 Guardian article on survivor claims against police also highlighted "beyond belief" abuses, reinforcing the prevalence of such horrors.
These details emerged from victim-led disclosures rather than initial police records, as early reports were often dismissed.Authorities' Efforts to Suppress Media ExposureYes, this is also true. The scandal involved systemic suppression of evidence by police, council officials, and social services, which extended to downplaying or ignoring reports that could have led to earlier media scrutiny. This created a de facto cover-up, driven by fears of racism accusations (given the perpetrators were predominantly British-Pakistani men), institutional bullying, and a culture of denial.
Key Suppression ExamplesDescriptionSource
Suppressed 2002 ReportA youth services report detailing grooming and violence (including early hints of extreme assaults) was dismissed as "fabricated or exaggerated" by senior officers, leading to "suspicions of collusion and cover-up." It was effectively buried, preventing public or media awareness.Jay Report (2014)
Ignored 2003–2006 ReportsThree further documents linking exploitation to drugs, guns, and violence were known to police and council but not acted on, with data "underplayed" to avoid scrutiny. This delayed journalistic investigations until The Times broke the story in 2012.Jay Report (2014); Casey Report (2015)
Fear of Racism LabelOfficials hesitated to publicize perpetrator profiles, prioritizing "political correctness" over victim safety, which stifled whistleblower reports and media tips. Then-Home Secretary Theresa May called it a "dereliction of duty" involving cover-ups.Casey Report (2015); Guardian (2014)
Bullying & SilencingSocial workers faced "professional jealousy" and hostility for raising alarms; a "culture of bullying, sexism, and suppression" discredited youth worker info, keeping abuses out of the press until external pressure.Casey Report (2015); Community Care (2015)
The Jay Report described "blatant" leadership failures over 12 years, leading to resignations and government intervention (Rotherham Council deemed "not fit for purpose" in 2015). Media exposure only ramped up post-2012 Times reporting, but earlier suppression allowed the gangs to operate unchecked. Ongoing inquiries (e.g., 2025 Casey audit) confirm these patterns persisted nationally.

Labour does not want the words Pakistani, Muslim and rape headlined for loss of votes.

It is clear to me that Labour controlled entities were complicit, MPs, council, social workers, and police.

Let's start here, well documented case where a police man found a drunk 13 year old girl in a room with several Pakistani muslims who had all raped her, the police officer arrested the girl for being drunk and reported the sex was consensual. A child cannot have consensual sex.

Where is this POS now, is he still a police officer, who read his report and ignored the rape, we have to make examples.

These rapists are animals and should be treated as such. Our home secretary's family roots are from the same area of Pakistan where most of the rapists originated.

Jess Philips for all her lip quivering is a disgrace just
trying to make the whole thing go away and not take away Labour votes.

I predict she will be out next election anyway, she can spend more time helping the school teacher in hiding thanks to death threats for her constituents

In July 2018 Home Secretary Sajid Javid ordered research into the particular characteristics of grooming gangs. However, as of March 2020 this report has not been released with the Home Office claiming it is ‘not in public interest’ to release the findings. Disgusting by Javid

100 percent.

In a nut-shell.

And Jess Phillips is clearly in the firing (quite literally) line for this one.

The way in which these survivors also stepped away from the enquiry, on four consecutive days, cannot be seen as anything else other than orchestrated. And with any and everybody else deciding to step away from chairing it then some serious questions are being posed.

Maybe this is Labour deliberately trying to scupper it all? Definitely a strong case for that and hands up, not one I saw coming. I just assumed they would look to do what they do with all such enquries in terms of making them all blather until people get bored of it (Grenfall anybody?) Question is what does Jess Phillips do, or rather does not, in the next few days?

It's so typical of the Labour party to have Jess Phillips of all people running this inquiry: deliberate or just incompetence? I go with a bit of both.

If Labour had tried to find someone less liked and more importantly less trusted than Jess Phillips to head this up they couldn't have found them.

Explanations in letter sent by those victims leaving the inquiry has already contradicted comments Phillips has said about what has gone on during discussions on the inquiry's focus and the backgrounds of those who sat on panels......predictably she has lost their trust.

To be fair to Phillips she does, and can on occasion show it, a certain level of charisma. But zero gravitas. And that is the issue here. She just does not have what it takes to politically operate at this level. Plus her own seat is under direct threat from political Islam (which is going to be an increasingly crucial part of the wider agenda as we move forward) so her judgment is always going to be flawed.

But perhaps that is the point of it all? Set up to fail. Increasingly the only rational explanation.

This was predictable as soon as they were dragged kicking and screaming to an enquiry, kudos to Charlie Peters at GB News. They have no shame this Govt

Labour used to have some giant politicians, I was at a dinner with Roy Mason once, such an impressive man
Not just Labour I think the quality of brains that goes into politics has diminished.

The general view is that a first rate brain just doesn't want to put up with intrusion into their personal life that pre 1960's never happened. The Profumo Affair was the turning point when the media stopped covering up for politicians and went full on bear bating.

Today the type of person who goes into politics is probably closer to the reality TV type personality (loves the media) than the big brain / public service / patriot of old.

So where are the big brains with the big ideas for society? Good question answers on a postcard please.
