my dream fantasy..........

a) win the Conference, in spite of many dodgy referee decisions along the way. Often us with only ten men on the pitch.

b) Us also to get clear of the relegation-dogfight by early March.

c) us to have only modest levels of injuries and suspensions.....in spite of us playing so much football every week.


A top four finish, in the table..............are you on drugs ? have you seen the bank account of those other clubs ?

English teams are likely to get 5 places, Arsenal, Liverpool and city have the top 3, Chelsea will be inconsistent but should have enough quality, Tottenham and Newcastle should be faves for 5th but I think Frank needs atleast a year first.

This year is a great chance for another team to try and break into the top 5, forest almost done it last year, with European football it'll be too much to ask of our squad, but I can definitely see one of Bournemouth, Brentford or Brighton competing for a European place at the end of the season.

I agree your last point but a poll on LinkedIn (hardly empirical, I know) gave the odds of the current surprise frontrunner's' chances of top 4 and they were:

Sunderland 3%
Bournemouth 17%
Palace 68% !

Best drugs on LinkedIn.

Perhaps, but qualify and we will be re-stocking the larder with players with price tags we would have found eye-watering... right now.
