Violent Crime Epidemic...in Ireland ?

I thought Ireland was one of the most well off countries in Europe, or is that a stat that you don't notice locally?
We love projecting a completely false narrative about how great the country is. In the most part it's probably better than Croydon - if that means anything. But we're catching up
It's also more expensive than Croydon almost everywhere. How nearly the whole of Ireland is more expensive than London is what we should be asking.
The best life in Ireland is reserved for the dole people in social housing. The dole is 220 a week for them. They get everything for free. You can even get food parcels delivered too. Then it's cool - a few cans a day. Some coke at the weekend. Whilst workers get up at London commuter times to travel an hour in traffic to a job a couple of miles away. You don't hear about our crowded roads do you? There are not public transport alternatives.
Tax is loads more than the UK. I think the yearly personal allowance before tax is about a grand - it's less I think.
And don't get ill or old or have bad teeth. Most people just grin and bear it. I'd be keen to know how many people die due to not being able to afford to see a doctor. It would be around a day's wages to see a doctor - if you needed any treatment. If not it's 60-75 for nothing at all. The pub offers relief at those prices.
Again, on the dole this is all free. Everyone should save a bit and leave work. The dole is where it's at here. Working is getting you an early grave. Europe's longest working week and they are lying about our holidays in recent articles I read. 18-21 days at most.
We just got free school books, however, this year.

Never trust statistics. The BBC once put out a graph on wage growth in the UK versus the EU. They even made the point that Spain was outstripping the UK on wage rises quite comfortably (under the Tories). The unions in the UK at that time traded jobs for low pay rises.

What they forgot to mention was that youth unemployment in Spain was nearly 30%. In other words if you had a job (mainly state / public) you were doing quite nicely. If you weren't so lucky......

I moved house 2 years ago and can't get a local doctor. My misses still has to travel halfway up the country to visit her old GP as she can't get a local one.

Whereas if you are an immigrant or on social welfare you get assigned a local doctor 🙄

I actually remember a few years ago I was able to get and appointment with my GP in London over one in Ireland 🤣 (flew over got a game and GP appointment in)

True. Compared to minimum-wage workers......

The longterm unemployed...
- live in nicer houses
- drive nicer cars

- have more kids
- have better medical care
- have tons more free-time and a better social life.
