Crystal Palace vs. Millwall match thread

A typical Carabao Cup game.

Poor to concede a goal like that, but we are through.

We'll probably get Liverpool away in the next round.

Benitez man of the match perhaps. One positive from the game.

Poor performance reminding me of the early fa cup rounds last season.

Esse out of his depth against Millwall, hope he can get some strength to regain his confidence.

Devenny and lerma great impact subs.

Uche is not skillful but offers a positive approach and strength, needs time.

Both Yeremy and Uche need time to realise you can tackle in England, Yeremy has a real presence about him and like Sarr by the end of the season he will be a star.

On to West Ham with hopefully the creativity of Wharton and Nketiah as an option when mateta gets tired

Esse needs game time to regain his confidence. A few months with the U21s may just help. He had a ‘stinker’ of a game - and mentally needs to recover
Honestly don't think it was any worse than a group of players across the game. The entire midfield and attack were guilty of constantly losing possession and misplacing passes. Think it's unfair to treat a 20 year so harshly considering the time afforded to others.

Two positives for me tonight was that Canvot looks assured and Bentinez is a very good backup.

Firstly - well done palace for digging in. Secondly - Millwall were actually a decent side. Game was frantic and they made it very difficult for us to get into a rhythm. Pino, Uche, Esse struggled moreso than most. JP marked out the game for the majority of it. We lacked a calmness in midfield - really missed Wharton. Thank Christ for Hughes and Kamada - the latter being clear motm imo. Jaydee did well enough at the back - looks a good player. Stream dropped out for the end of pens - but 2 saves from Benitez is great for moral and he looked a commanding backup for hendo. Glasner will have learnt a lot tonight - as will the new signings. My nose tells me Esse will go on loan in January, Pino will come good once Wharton’s in the team and Uche will score goals off the bench based on his chaos factor alone. Can’t complain with progressing through - but Glasner will be neutral in his assessment. UTP

Passing was atrocious - but millwall made it very difficult (to the point even when we did have time we still f*cked it up!)
