And in other news, the Left and Right are polarising everywhere. All seem to be putting down the work-tools and picking up the boxing gloves. Europe feels like the early 1930's.

He'll be caught. I think it was someone out of state who came there knowing the set up and how to do it. He'll be on campus cameras in advance.

The rush to judgement over this, which Trump is contributing to himself, is at the actual root of the problem. It increases the divide, rather than attempts to heal it.

Violence in pursuit of politics is never acceptable, from wherever it arises, and it arises on both sides. Not just one.

This is something that people of goodwill can unite over and condemn without any qualifications. There are some who are already convinced this was a political assassination and calling for vengeance. It may well have been but until we know, if we ever know, we need to hold back the comments. If we know we still need to show restraint to avoid making things worse.

I hope this will be a wake up call to the USA about the contribution that the widespread availability of military style weapons is making to the spread of lethal political violence. I anticipate excuses.

Difficult to kill someone with a knife when you are 150 yards away on a rooftop!

Difficult to plant explosives in a gazebo which will be searched before use.

I agree with you, we know if say Frank Bruno, Nigel Benn or the Hodge Twins types had been there they would have done something.

But yeah.....the anti white propaganda pumped out by the left plays a part in what happened to this girl.

The guy has schizophrenia. He is sick and ought not have been out in society but that’s no excuse. There are no excuses for what happened. The far right’s justification for racism by inventing the existence of anti whiteness doesn’t change that. Nor does it help anything.

The behaviour of the others there is another matter. I guess they were so shocked and fearful they were stunned and incapable of rational thought. It’s only a guess though. I don’t think they were likely to lack compassion for the victim, whatever their race might have been.

No doubt we will shortly be seeing Charlie Kirk’s murder framed as being down to anti whiteness. It’s so sad to see people determined to widen gulfs like this in 2025. We are surely better and wiser than that?

Would you think it a good idea to swap the SA80 Bullpup with a hunting knive for our infantrymen in the British Army?

I agree with the highlighted sentence. Unlikely, but not impossible. Nor is it impossible that they may escape detection which increases the need not to make matters worse with speculation.

It does though, given the irresponsible comments of some, seem that advice on self restraint is necessary. If, as is happening, there are calls for retribution then these need to stop. Violence begetting more violence is never justified. The circle needs to be stopped from turning and not given impetus.

This is a time for mourning for his family and friends and not for them to become engulfed by a political hell fire.

When will it end? They tried to assassinate Trump last year. They assassinated Charlie Kirk yesterday. Who will be next? And how does it stop?

The left have crossed a line. And this could potentially become a moment in time when people are going to seriously push back on their madness. They have brought us to this point.

FBI agent Beau Mason confirmed that a "high powered bolt action rifle" was recovered in a wooded area after Charlie Kirk’s assassination, along with shoe impressions and a palm print. Authorities also say they have "clear" images and video of the suspect, described as "college age," but will not release them at this time.

Rumours/leaks from Steven Crowder suggest that there are markings found on the rifle and effects suggesting transgender and anti fascist ideology.

If this is true at this stage this could be true of the killer or a deliberate ruse to take investigators off the scent.
