I think a club would potential use the term 'mutual' to protect the player.

I hope whatever happened, Malcolm can bounce back and make the most of his career. Still very young and can have a future if he can get himself in the right place.

Exactly my boss was caught fiddling his expenses he agreed he was mutually leaving the firm, the alternative was being sacked and prosecuted.

he was on c£10k a week at Palace so with 2 years left i suspect Palace gave him a lump sum to leave. It appears maybe he's put some of that up his nose.

Puts me in mind of a time way back in the 90's when Chris Armstrong was on a hot streak for us, then failed a cannabis test for the first ever Prem drugs ban.

Flogged him to Spurs for a club record that summer so, hope for Malcolm
