Reminds me of the Palestine flag below that "secretly snuk its way into" a perfectly framed picture, and in focus for the TV cameras. And left on view for 5 or ten minutes, perfectly placed just between the PM and the Silverware. And all the stadium security standing 5 yards away but ignored him.

Rembrandt and others had their students doing a lot on their work but Banksy (if he actually exists) is the equivalent of Mark Kostabi and Jeff Koons; a hustler who's created a brand and fully trades on it.

He does, the Daily Mail have outed his name several times. No surprise he is a middle class white middle aged man from Bristol. Ticks all the progressive boxes but gets upset if the media show a picture of him or use his real name.

He's an artist not the head of the secret service.

I'm not convinced Badger. There may be a nominal figurehead but it's also possible "Banksy" is a group like the ironically named Italian novelist Luther Blissett which name now encompasses of hundreds people.

all the successful renaissance artists followed the money. Got a Patron and painted whatever he asked for. Notice i say "successful" artists, not Great artists. When the money was Catholicism, that's what Michelangelo painted - even though he was incapable of painting a feminine set of shoulders & arms.

If i was any artist, painter or musician or actor, i would be wearing a giant rainbow flag and singing about Climate Change to beat the band. Same as the Beastie Boys banging on about the liberation of Tibet......whether or not they really give a sh1.t

Banksy would be painting communist art if he lived in 1950s Russia.

Interesting idea. A while back he had a hissy fit over the Mail and served papers. Apparently the Mail was looking forward to it because he would have to appear in court under his real name and would be photographed outside court. He would also have to answer questions about his art so maybe this would have come out.

Anyway it all went quiet, so my guess is that he didn't want to derail the gravy train.

The man the Mail identified is a multi millionaire lefty, nuff said.

Banksy's new artwork is stolen from a south London street

The artist confirmed the artwork - a traffic stop sign covered with three aircraft said to resemble military drones - was his in a social media post today shortly after midday.
