Immigration

That's pure crazy. That just means rents go up and availability goes down. Half the Labour party are landlords though aren't they? Sounds like Reeves is Starmer's ally against Rayner - who just bought another home to rent out.
All open and, forgive the pun, above board.

Bob is a gimp and it’s good to see the council leader in that part of Birmingham ignore him. If you lived in or near Birmingham you might understand how they’re feeling. But you don’t, you live in Cornwall lol. Not Wisbech. Cornwall.
You’ve met Bob have you? So you know you can insult him for being disabled?

And you know that the people putting up those flags were just locals concerned about the direction of their locality and not political activists trying to stir up trouble?

You know a lot of things I don’t. I live in Cornwall. Do you live in Stourbridge? Which is actually somewhere I used to know quite well. Many years ago.

BBS is in meltdown over one small flag Stop The Boats.

They are fine with BLM and Palestinian flags though. For the record whilst I agree with the sentiment of stop the boats I don't like politics at football which I said from day 1 of all that knee bending rubbish.

So they shouldn't have brought the flag to the game.

Lets kick All Politics out of Football. With possibly the exception of local politics......if Croydon needed an new wing to a childrens hospital....maybe wave a flag. But Flags for a War five or ten thousand miles away ? not welcome.
The BBS does not have a monopoly on Palace fans opinions. It would be nice if they kept it all away from our terraces.

As I understand it, from what has been written about other contracted hotels, that £35,000 per month is solely for the use of the hotel. They bring in their own contractors to cook, clean, repair and provide security, so that would be £35k with NO outgoings for staffing etc.
I know any renovation at the end of the contract is excluded but don’t know about the rest. You could be right. £22 per night per person is still inexpensive though. You would do well to rent living space any cheaper.

He is absolutely wrong. Firstly they are asylum seekers. They don’t get given phones or iPads. They either get fed, or provided a minimum sum so they feed themselves waiting for their claim to be processed. They get a roof over their head.
I will say this again, Yes the do get phones and iPads….fact!

Is the correct answer. Original staff were made redundant due to HO appointed contractors taking over. All repairs etc paid for by HO, so it’s not £22 per night

Only you would accuse me of insulting Bob being disabled when it was actually because he’s being pathetic over the flag of the country.

You’re obsessed with people opposed to mass immigration, whether legal or illegal, being trouble makers or political activists, when in actual fact it’s the far left who are doing exactly that and the rest on the other side normal people.

Yes, you live in Cornwall, in your lovely little bubble. Don’t lecture others.

So I have to say again, no they don’t. Not according to the official gov website or Google:-

Google:-

“No, asylum seekers are not routinely provided with mobile phones or iPads by the government; it's a myth that they receive these items as part of their support package. Instead, they typically purchase their own devices using their personal funds or receive donated ones from charities that help them stay connected with family, legal support, and essential services. A temporary exception occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic when a limited number of phones were distributed to facilitate communication during lockdown, but this was not a standard provision.“

Only the ones that say they're genuine, have a disability or learning difficulty, or speak a different language receive them. And those that say they are under 18. So not routinely, just all of them.

Are you introducing your own meaning to insults? I don’t use the word, so needed to look it up.

The “Urban Dictionary”, which seems the appropriate source for this defines “gimp” thus:-

“A derrogatory term for someone that is disabled or has a medicial problem that results in physical impairment.”

To describe an urban homeowner who is concerned about strangers tying flags onto lampposts outside his property as “pathetic”, let alone as a “gimp” really isn’t very nice.

If anyone is being pathetic over this it isn’t him. Or me!

So you know better than either the Government or Google?

Or maybe you have just bought into the myth and are repeating it?

As that’s the way conspiracy theories spread I know which is more likely to be true!

Come on. I easily know better than both of them. That wouldn't exactly be much of an achievement. It's like beating my three year old at Monopoly. Where I put chocolate biscuits for landing on Free Parking.
