Many will say Thunderbirds, some Sting Ray, very few Fireball XL5 or Supercar, then there's Joe 90, and of course Space 1999 which wasn't a puppet show although it wasn't always easy to tell. They keep popping up when I lapse into reels - they're amazing. I'm going for Captain Scarlet, the Angels, the Mysterons, you can't beat it, and the music's groovier than Joe 90, but only just.

There’s some good documentaries on YouTube about the Andersons and the making of all their stuff, fascinating detail. We obviously knew, even as kids, that they were puppets, but they were so well made it didn’t seem to matter, even now when I watch them.

I watched a couple of episodes of UFO recently which was my favourite and their first real people series, and it was funny that it was made in 1970, but set in 1980, funny because of how far advanced and how different they thought things would be only 10 years in the future

Back in the early 70's before I joined the RN, I used to run a mobile disco, KG Sounds. My late brother & I, as well as two friends used to dress up as TB characters using the old 'KwikFit' outfits. Our intro was, of course, TB & our outtro was Joe90. Happy & 'slightly' innocent days.^
