Wharton

I thought he trained with the squad before the Brighton match on Thursday, but had a setback. Is that what this is referring to?
That's exactly what I heard. But I thought he would still be back soon as it implied it wasn't serious.
But quite a few weeks? Now I am quite concerned.
To be fair, these days players are such finely tuned athletes, it seems it is hard to keep them in tip top condition without injuries. But we have had our fair share of long term injuries to top players. Amongst others, Wickham, Doucoure, Esse, Olise, Zaha, Franca and now Wharton.
Praying Wharton will not be long.

It's a significant blow with Wharton's absence being referred to as 'quite a few weeks.'

Previously it was said he was in contention to start v Arsenal.

We have a lot of games in the next few weeks, and while Lerma and Hughes have done well, injuries and suspensions are always around the corner and Doucoure continues to struggle with his fitness.
I don't want to see another Fulham selection when we played with a skeleton midfield.

Devenny's emergence is a bonus, but it would be unfair to place the burden of one of the two central midfield roles on him at this early stage.

Wharton's first half of the season has been a write off.
Apparently yet another injury caused by the international call up .

Dont think you could call Schlupp a skeleton 🤣

A big f up by the club. He should have had the operation at the start of the season. Not sure what our medical department is playing at, at times
When did you get your degree in sports medicine? Shame the club didn’t ring for your advice on managing Adam’s injury. He wouldn’t have missed so many matches.

He first picked up the injury at the Euros, so was carrying an injury in August. He was quite clearly not 100% fit in the games he did play. We finally got the operation done in late October/ early November. Had it been carried out in August, there has been 3 international breaks, when no games would have been missed and he, presumably would now be fit. He is now missing at the busiest time of season. Personally I feel they could have done the op sooner. Apologies if having an opinion is so annoying to you.
