Wear a Rolex and be murdered in London

Really takes the biscuit from me, murdered for a stupid watch.

I had a rolex once I can't see what the fuss is about, my cheapo g shock casio is much better altogether.

To think someone has lost their life beggars belief.

My Father-in-Law bought a Rolex in Times Square for $10. What a bargain! He thought it was a right laugh - it worked for about 10 years too. He'd have probably still clumped anyone trying to take it off him.
I bought a moody Ferrari branded watch from a market stall in Turkey about 30 years ago for around a fiver.
A year or so later it needed a replacement battery, so I took it into H Samuel's the jewellers to get them to do it. The man behind the counter looked at the watch and said 'sorry sir, we're not insured enough to handle that watch'
He was a bit embarrassed when I told him what I payed.
By the way, I've still got it and it's still working !

Of all the stupid things you've posted that takes the lead by a mile
I think his point is one murder of one man for one watch that was not actually taken.

Awful, but does not an epidemic make.

Also, early doors in the investigation. We don't know who the perp was. We don't really know the motive for the attack.

Yet people feel free to post on global issues armed with about 10% of selected facts.

Still, I advise not wearing expensive clothes or accessories, carrying expensive handbags or walking around with an expensive phone out. Have a wallet where your card can't be read and don't go to a cash point. That's just the way it is.

True enough but anyone nicking handbags is going to end up with a warehouse full of snides for every real one.

A little trick I do in rough places is carry a wallet with maybe 20 quid in it and a load of meaningless cards - like my supermarket points and Palace membership card (apologies). I hide my real stuff. Thus I can give the c**** a twenty and not really care too much.
