If this wasn’t so pathetic it would be laughable. Serious questions need to be asked of the Police here, why charge the woman in the first place? Why ,et it proceed to court?
Then the taxpayer funded fees, £55 per hour for Lithuanian interpreter!! I’m suspectshe spoke English when initially discussing it with the neighbour and reporting it to the Police, she should have been made to pay for that service herself. It would be interesting what job she does that doesn’t require a working knowledge of English.
This is a trivial dispute between neighbours, that should never have been escalated

Unfortunately, it's a tiny drop in the ocean, compared to huge wasteful expenditure of public money across Government and their departments.
I have seen £600 charged to a Council (and paid) for changing a single light bulb in a Care Home.

If the Lithuanian lady couldn't speak English and needed an expensive interpreter in court how did she report the matter to the police?

They should have named the suspect in the media, given her full postal address and held her in remand until trial. Then she should have been shot at dawn for being a racist and doing a race-hate crime.
