That is sad. You wonder if he will be released in the summer? Not sure what happens when there is still 3 years to go on his contract.

I read into that, that we only had 1 available place for those 2. Thus they chose the player who was likely to return the soonest or who would be the most benefical to the squad, not neccesarily that Cheick was out for a very long time. But maybe I am just being optimistic.

I think you're right in that we need the CB cover more than the midfield cover. In any event, if we qualify for the knockout stages, we will be required to give another list after the January window.

Obviously with the JRS v Ahamada issue, we needed JRS to make up our club-grown complement. We've also had to include Kporha for the same reason even though being U21 he would qualify for the B list.
