Have to agree with Trump on this and it’s very damaging to Starmer , Shows even if you crawl up Trumps a**e like Starmer has , Donald is still prepared to shite on you ..

Yet last May the United States were saying they welcomed the agreement the the UK had made ?

I liked Trump 45 but Trump 47 is becoming a pain in the arse though the weakness of the other western leaders is only encouraging him to be so . Starmer needs another u-turn ,enforce British sovereignty over the Chagos Islands and tell Trump if he wants a base on Garcia he had better wind his neck in .

In the real world Starmer will say America is our closest and dearest friend and they will let us know whats going on when they feel like it and tell us what to say when they are done .

Interesting fact , Around 3.5k Chagossians live in Crawley , Bet they didn’t get a say in the deal between the UK and Mauritius .
Most Chagossians are of African heritage ( Plantation slaves for the French ) before the Portuguese discovered the islands they were uninhabited , So I don’t see how Mauritius even have a valid claim of sovereignty .

All Trump has done is emphasise how inconsistent he is and is prepared to use every insult and u turn possible to respond to things he regards as a personal criticism.

It’s not whether Starmer can survive. It’s whether Trump will.

The US may not have realised what was in the small print…somebody may be able to confirm this but I thought I read some time ago that there are restrictions. No nuclear weapons stored there and Mauritius to be informed of any sorties using the base(not helpful if the Mauritian government is allegedly as close to the Chinese as we are led to believe). Add this to the approval of the mega Chinese embassy in central London and you can see why trump wants to protect the USA as he doesn’t trust third parties (Denmark and the UK) to act in their best interests. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t just ‘take’ the Chagos islands.

This, and the fact that the Americans praised the way it was handled only last year is just further evidence that Trump is a world war waiting to happen.
 
Try not to let your hatred of Starmer blind you to the fact that Trump is an increasingly erratic and potentially very dangerous man.

We all rallies around Ukraine when Russia invaded yet sone seem content to stand by when the US threatens to invade another country.

One may well be against Starmer, full stop, but this is about how The Trumpet is acting, surely. I couldn't give a tinker's cuss about how many u-turns Starmer has done; here we see a complete volte-face from where we were last May with no apparent change in the UK government's stance.

The POTUS is a completely loose cannon.

It doesn't matter how much you want to snipe at Starmer or mitigate Trump's actions, this is just weird.

The number of U-turns made by the current government is just deflection. Look at that rather than looking at the real issue here which is that the US President who has the keys to the big bad bombs is threatening to invade another country in London our back yard. Ripping up any defence treaties and old alliances.

We appeased a dictator and it started the second world war let's remember that.

The only people that have a claim on sovereignty are the people that have been displaced and the few that still live there . Its funny ,Starmer insists the Greenlanders should be the the ones who decide the future of their country yet gives Chagos away to a third party while ignoring the wishes of the Chargossians '
He's not very good at this geopolitics game is he .

I think that America has mis-stepped here but I agree with their current stance.
If Starmer can U turn every month then Trump is surely allowed to mimic that.
Tw Tier says that Greenlanders should get to vote but he doesn't feel that the Chagossians should have the same right?
He cares little for the UK and doing his best to ruin it on a daily basis.

I seem to recall that some on the left wanted to give the Falklands to Argentina, even though they had no genuine claim on it. We gave Hong Kong to our enemies, and now this Labour government are having to pay to hand over the strategically important Chagos Islands.

The noisy objection to this situation is all about Trump bad. It's the left trying to seek advantage as usual. Why is Britain opposing America on this? They are our strongest ally, without whom we couldn't defend ourselves from Russia in a conventional war.
Denmark has sovereignty over Greenland, but it doesn't govern it. It is self governed. One of its allies wants to buy it for strategic reasons. The massively powerful ally that supports Europe in the event of war.
Leftist Europe doesn't seem to understand that without the good old USA, we would be exposed to all kinds of military threats.

So Trump comes in like a crazy man, making a lot of noise. That is an age old negotiation tactic. At some point, some underlings will make excuses for him and dial it back. Then we will have a negotiation in which only one side has the real power.

Trump will get Greenland and Europe should celebrate. They won't, because it's Trump, and Trump opposes their globalist, destructive nightmare that they are laying on their populations.
One day, Europe might be entirely Islamic and become the enemy of America. It's entirely possible with the current rates of Muslim immigration.

You'd better think about whose side you're on.
