Agree with all the sentiments, decent player but nothing special. But woth remembering that he kept Richards out of the team post injury.


Suspect this might be an end of the window signing with Chelsea hanging on for max money.

A few thoughts.

Understand that he is mid 20s.
Chelsea have been trying to sell him to us - sample first part of season, there if you want him at our price.
Could Imray (younger and already contracted to CPFC) do the job we need?

No. not in a million years (also not the same position).

If we want to push on we need a decent solid squad.

Someone said it a couple of weeks back, but if he wasn't our player, there is no way we'd all be looking at Bromley's right back wondering if he could do a job in the prem!

Unless they are ripping up the championship, its not even a consideration.

Agreed.
You go backwards if you replace premium quality with untried gambles.
I note that we're linked with high quality central defenders to potentially replace Guehi.
I acknowledge that there's a difference between 'being linked with' as opposed to concluding a deal, but I think the ambitious Glasner would be less than pleased with a significant drop in quality in proposed replacements for established players .
 
I think he would be a solid replacement for MG - who sadly we will lose. Chalobah still has so much potential to fulfil and (like MG) is a very decent lad who fits in well with our squad.

OG was clearly very disappointed when Chelsea recalled him - especially as his performances were steadily improving week on week.

I think there’s more to come from Chalobah - hopefully it’s in a Palace shirt.

Totally agree.

Marc started as the centre of 3 until LaCroix got up to sped and ended as a solid part of the back line. IMO replaced him with Trevor makes good sense.

Ollie is all about consistency and this looks a seamless transition.

Do the deal if Guehi won’t sign the contract extension.
