Timothy West

A real pity.

He played the evil mine owner in the comedy Brass.

Looking out the window he sees it's snowing and says something like "I love this time of the year, start of the eviction season".

RIP

Royal Jelly Tales of the Unexpected is one that always stayed with me.

Loved the Canal Series it was so evident how much they still adored each other even after all those years.

He was on TV today in the penultimate "Doctors"

RIP

Saw him on stage 3 or 4 times. Always good value and a great presence. Remember well his spat with O’Toole during the Macbeth disaster at the Old Vic in the early 80’s. O’ Toole was off his head on coke at the time and West walked on stage and disowned the production. Hilarious. RIP.

What sad news. A proper actor who had devoted his recent years caring for Prunella Scales, his lovely wife of 61 years who has Dementia. A real love story. Goodness knows how she will cope without his support.

Interestingly, because of the latest hype surrounding the TV adaptation of The Day of The Jackal wth Eddie Redmayne, I recall him in the original classic 1973 film in which he played a member of the French intelligence.

RIP Mr West.
