Ticket Transfer Query

I posted this question on Reddit as well but thought it best to also ask here.

A mate of mine who is a gold member purchased some tickets for him and his son to the forthcoming Brentford game. Unfortunately, he can no longer go and has offered the tickets to me.

I don't have any membership for me or my son, but we do have an account on the ticketing website. When he tries to transfer the tickets to me, a message pops up saying that the tickets are not eligible to be sent to this account. I presume this is because he is a member and I'm not.

If I were to purchase membership for me and my son, would this allow the tickets to be transferred to us?

I believe if you become a member you can then add your son to friends and family. I did this last year with my brother. Both the tickets were on my phone so I just passed it through the turnstile so he could use it.

Paper tickets would be ideal but they are tricky to get hold of. You can always phone the box office, they are helpful. Hope you enjoy the match and Palace win COYP
