Who else goes in here ?

I've been going to the VC pre and post match for 20 odd years now.

Recently - last 2 months - there seems to have been a change in who is running the Club and how.

Examples ;

1. I'm a paid up member, as is my partner. Before the Bournemouth game, we were in the VC garden with my daughter and granddaughter. A woman from the VC demanded, very rudely, that my daughter paid the £3 admission fee as it was a ''new policy '' to charge people before their entering the club to buy drinks. Fair enough, never experienced that before...but - other people started coming into the garden and were not asked to pay.

2. After the parade yesterday. My partner and daughter were in the garden and been served drinks - all good. But I and other members were refused entry by that same rude, obnoxious woman who said the club was '' full '' - it wasn't ! She then relented, let me and 4/5 others ( all members btw ) in. I got my pint but then she refused to let me back out into the garden to join partner and daughter ! I complained to a male member of staff about both her ridiculous ad hoc rules and her rude manner. '' She's under pressure '' was the explanation ! I noticed her letting other people back into the garden so tail gated and got out. But really....

I would say that maybe she'd taken a dislike to me and mine, but she's the same to everyone....

Some people are just not cut-out for the hospitality trade (usually the French).
Or
Might have had the painters in.
I recall a rather gruff and somewhat obnoxious 'Mine Host' who was asked by a customer if he had the Wifi password his response being "Do I F..K".
This same gentleman on hearing a customer request a coffee responded in anger with "This is not a bloody cafe".
Customer Service not at its best !

The Coach & Horses just off Charing Cross Rd used to be run by Norman Balon who was the self-styled Rudest Landlord in London. It was where the Private Eye writers went for their meetings and Jeffrey Bernard and Tom Baker were in there all the time. Norman hurling abuse at all and sundry was about the only attraction because it wasn't the smartest pub.
