I am a sometime cyclist. I use cycle lanes where possible, wea a helmet, fluorescent bib, try not to be a too much of a c-nt, and fall off far more that i used to.
I have seen massively aggressive cycling in London, and other areas.
I probably am biased, but this is only down to personal experiences of cyclists being c-nts.
So, the 20mph limits in Wales are a disaster, and are not being enforced by police. However, this article makes no sense. And this is an article by the bastion of truth, the BBC.
"A cycling race has been shortened and rerouted due to Wales' 20mph default speed limit, organisers have said.
Three of the five stages of the Junior Tour of Wales, which starts on Friday, have been changed as support vehicles would not be able to keep up with the riders without speeding." (BBC website)
This makes no sense at all. The organisers are condoning bicycles breaking the speed limit, but the support vehicles can't. Or is this me ? in the 1980's my mate was given a talking to by police for "bombing down a hill" on his bike, as he was technically breaking the speed limit.
I was going to state this is another example of two-tier policing...but didn't want to get too political 😀 I mean, it is Wales, and they make things up as they go along. Probably a good fit with BBC reporting.
