Should have made them go by public transport on the way there as well, there'd have been a chance they'd have missed the kick off and forfeited the game.

Mates and I were on the same train to Preston in Bert Head's time. Bert was a real gentleman and greeted us as we boarded the train. On the way back, John Jackson came through our carriage and seemed pissed as a newt. We lost of course.

it was quicker by train by nearly 2 hours also they all had a break I think

i hope the Palace team bus was decked out with Champagne & Cheerleaders.....and put at the disposal of the Macclesfield players. They deserved it.
