I know, it's a weird feeling going to these places (or anywhere really) as favourites. Doesn't sit well with me if I'm honest. I prefer feeling like the underdog. In fact I think part of the reason we have struggled in this competition is because despite having zero experience of playing in Europe, we are expected to steamroller the opposition who are always right up for it, whilst we rarely are. It's part of the reason we lost to Macclesfield too, although there were other factors like burnout, confidence, unbalanced side, Glasner, Mateta etc involved too. But the mindset and attitude has to be right first doesn't it. Does 2026 Glasner extol that virtue? I'm not sure.Uefa actually want Premier League teams participating in this new mickey-mouse competition. Just to give it some credibility and gravitas.
We are now the big boys that everybody wants to beat.
