Premier League to stop holding minute’s silences for unrelated global events

The Premier League and the rest of English football will no longer hold automatic minute’s silences for global disasters after agreeing such gestures were losing impact.

About time. It has got ridiculous with the virtue signalling and is also woefully inconsistent.

People getting upset over the Ukraine and Palestine but ignoring 1m people deported by Iran back to Afghanistan or the crisis in Sudan or god knows how many more countries.

A minutes silence if it is football related fair enough. The rest should be left to individuals.
