Possible Championship Summer Signings 2026 : Žan Vipotnik Swansea

I was wondering what will bring these Championship hopefuls to a club like Palace? If they really do have the potential then there is the possibility that they could sign for a club higher up the league thinking that they have made it, only to sit on the bench for the majority of a season. Aside from a modest increase in salary a sure fire way is to offer then first team football, and the opportunity to play in Europe.

Good signing. The more I hear of Carrick, he seems like a decent manager these days.
Carrick joined Middlesbrough when they were 21st after 16 games.
That season they finished 4th and lost in the play-offs to Coventry.
In the following season they ended in 8th place and the season after (His last) Middlesbrough finished in 10th place.
At Man Utd, Carrick joined as 'Interim' manager with Man Utd in 7th place after 21 PL games. They currently sit in 3rd place and he will be rewarded by being offered a permanent contract.

I think the classic example in Semenyo, who we let slip though our fingers, Bristol city to Bournemouth, find his feet over a couple of seasons, then move on, if you're good enough for the big bucks.

Hopefully they follow the same pattern as boro did under him, they had the luxury of a game a week and out the cups,

Need to look at guehi, eze, olise, Wharton, Lacroix etc to see how we progress players, the vast amount of players that have got into their international squads by playing for us must be a massive pull

Brighton for selling on perhaps? But only to Chelsea.
Us not so much selling on but helping raw talent fulfill their potential into world class players

Eze, Guehi, Olise, Wharton, AWB and then to a lesser extent Munoz, Mateta and LaCroix.

Brighton do great in terms of selling players on for a big fee and I guess for developing talent also. Trossard, Caciedo, Cucarella & MacAlister for example

Yes, and these have their respective qualities and give a good example for other players who need to make a choice about joining Palace. That said, these players flourished under Glasner's stewardship, and this is what we need to see from the next manager too.
