Player of the Season

Its normally pretty straight forward ,maybe between two ,three at the most but this season almost every player has a decent claim .

Some had brilliant starts to the season others have come good later but over the season Munoz and Henderson have been consistently above average .
Hughes would be a popular choice , Glasner has certainly found what buttons needed to be pressed to get the best out of him and we cant ignore Eze now he has found his shooting boots .

But for me its Munoz , his energy is infectious and must go down as one of our best signings in recent years . I think we miss him more than any other player when he is not on the pitch

1. Hughes
2. Mateta
3. Munoz

Would be my vote - probably not that objective but I just love Hughes and the impact he has on the rest of the team.

It is mad how many players you can make a serious case for.

This season I agree with all of you... and none of you. Tough one and forced me to go all Clouseau.

I vote Mitchell. 8th best tackles in the league. Plays every game. Never injured. You only know how good he is when substituted by a seasoned England international.
Very much agree with the sentiment - definitely our most underrated player IMO.

Hughesie has improved immeasurably this season but I'm going to be a little controversial here by adding Marc Guehi because he has improved even by his excellent standards. And Hendo, too. He's saved that many potential goals this season, it's untrue. What a improved player he is.
My only complaint about Mr Hughes is the number of yellows he gets. Almost one per game.

For me:

Hendo
Guehi
Hughsie.

I can't recall a season where it has been so difficult to pick a POTY. For me, it could be one of 8 players and I would not disagree with any of them.

Hughes, Henderson, Guehi, Lacroix, Munoz, Eze, Sarr, or Mateta

I went for Munoz because I think he is our most valuable player this year, complete in every part of his role and has been consistent the whole season

I'd go for Hughes as well. I think his leadership has been invaluable this season and I haven't seen him have a bad game. Great Pro.

The other interesting thing for me is how we've changed in the second half of the season. A fair bit of it is the team gelling under the coaching team and the balance we've developed, whether at the back or pushing on in attack. But also, we have Adam back gluing everything together. I don't think he's played quite as well as he can do as an individual (I'm kinda expecting every pass he tries to come off!), but he just makes the game easier for everyone else in the team.

But for Player of the Season, I'd still go for Hughes.

Caveat: Am willing to change my vote to DK if he scores the winner on Sat (might even buy the T-Shirt as well!)

Can’t really argue with any of the names put forward so far, the whole team has been amazing after that worrying start.

But I’m going for Lacroix, because he has grown steadily into that position through the season and has been absolutely immense in the last few games.

And he’s French, of course.

You say that like it’s a good thing 😇😉😁

As others has said, we are in such an unusual position of having several great candidates for PoS. My most underrated player is Mitchell.

He is joined on the long/shortlist consisting of: Munoz, Sarr, Guehi, Hendo, JPM and La Croix.

I could probably shorten that to Munoz and JPM. But its Hughes for me - he carried the team for half the season. He gets too many yellows but often that's tactical because of others' mistakes.

Lots of great calls on this thread, and I was particularly pleased to see Silvertop suggest Mitchell, and others say the same. He is much maligned but is a fantastic defender, and is starting to qualify as a great servant to the club. However I wouldn't vote for him as his attacking has let him down a bit as a wing-back. Like others I love Munoz, but he had a horrible start to the season. Hughesy has been good but not been consistently influential enough for me. Ebs and Sarr outstanding at times but not that consistent, and I think JP hasn't been as strong as the 2nd half of last season. So for me it's between Guehi and Lacroix, and as Lacroix took several games to get up to speed, my vote goes to our captain Marc Guehi. I think he will be missed a lot more than many think if he goes. His performances have been outstanding, and he has been an example to others both as a leader on the pitch and as a man off it. I for one hope he stays but will always wish him the very best if he moves on.

Yes. Bang on.

Class. In play and attitude.

Sarr for me, he's been outstanding and a massive outlet and threat to the opposition. Even when we've not played well, he usually has.

Incredibly tight this year… my top 3 is sarr, munoz and Henderson!

I gave my vote to Henderson, saved us many times this season and I think we take for granted how good he’s been.. still remember the uproar when the club picked him over Johnstone!

I would love to vote for Hendo again!!
