PL Club Finances

That is a load of rubbish it does not show any breakdowns or anything.

What is classed as a loss it doesn't even define it.

Here is an example Man City spend 1 billion on a new ground and other facilities well this would class that as a loss (It clearly is not)

Just off the top of my head, I believe it is written off over a few years. I guess it depreciates on the trial balance too. But I do believe that capital expenditure is allowed under the financial rules. Not sure exactly how much or even if there is a limit. I guess it means capital expenditure on our new main stand will not count as a loss for the financial rules of the Premier League and Europe. I presume it takes a bit of accounting.

Football finance guy on the radio yesterday talking about Manchester City's spending and imminent news of any sanctions they might be getting . He then went on to briefly go through what clubs have in the kitty suggesting Palace have £60-70 million headroom to keep within PSR .

Thats all being changed from 26-27 when squad cost ratio (SCR) will replace PSR which aligns us with UEFA financial rules . A limit will be set on spending on players ,wages ,agents fees ect against club income .UEFA are set at 70%
Palace are around that 70% which would take away any headroom hence the need for more revenue with the new stand . A few clubs are going to be bang in trouble ,Forest 95% and Villa 93% will need to sell players to reduce their wage bills .(though both are like us undergoing ground expansion )

When you actually read whats available to us minions with regard to club finances ,financial rules ect (Ive only touched the surface ) It makes you thankful we have Parish juggling the balls .

I think you misunderstood what was said.

We had 60-70m headroom under SCR not PSR. (It was even mention on TalkSport we have plenty to play with yet choose to not use it)

UEFA rules are a joke anyway you cut a deal with them and pay a fine this is what Villa and Chelsea have done. (I don't expect it would matter to Palace anyway the way things are heading we wont be in any EU comp anyway next season)

I think I got a decent understanding of the situation ,but thanks anyway .

What rankles so much over the past few months has been the actions of bigger fish in the league operating the tall poppy syndrome with payback of knocking us down to size for winning a cup and even worse insolence of sitting in 4th place in the league at end of year!

So many of the usual suspects know they would have trouble prevailing toe to toe on the pitch but any matters off the pitch are fair game apparently. Persuade someone the grass is greener and you can easily wreck a team spirit. Just because you're paranoid, don't mean theyre not after you...
