Phone signal at Selhurst

I found an old thread from 2020. A few old geezers complaining about how crap the 4g/5g signal was. Can't look at scores, can't whatsapp the Mrs etc. etc.
Now I'm one of these old geezers and 4 years later I've got the same issues. Tesco on the o2 network.
Is there a solution?
Some sort of tether, hot spot ...thingy??
Some of the people around me seem to be doing 'stuff' on their phones. Is it just o2?
Seems a bit bonkers..we can put a dog in space and all that..

O2 was always crap for me, I’m with EE now which is hit and miss, but a lot better than O2. People who have Vodafone near me seem fine

Apparently there’s not a nearby O2 antenna to cope with the traffic of matchday

I kid you not, My Sky man turned up not so long ago and he was still using a 3310, like triggers broom, he said he’d had it 20 years and it’s had two new batteries and a new case 😀

Haven’t heard one of those announcements over the PA system for many years. Having said that you can’t hear anything over the PA system

Yup it seem to be every week a guy would be told over the PA he's got a kid. You don't here it any more because most blokes wouldn't dare miss the delivery.

Sometimes watching palace a call or two trying to flog me something might be a welcome break though🤣

I sometimes find my data getting 'stuck' where I can't get anything, but the trick I've learnt is to put the phone in airplane mode, wait a few seconds, and then take it off airplane mode, and that tends to re-establish the connection.

The very poor phone signal and broadband has been raised with the club by CPISA. The club have said they will look at improving it when they build the new stand and hopefully upgrade the whole stadium to 5G.

Perhaps we will get Wi-Fi when the new stand is completed.

In the meantime it would be appreciated if we had a PA system that is audible. I always visualise the announcer sitting in a small dusty back room under the Main Stand in front of an old valve operated radio, speaking into one of those big microphones that BBC presenters had in the early days.
