Penalty Takers

Munoz would worry me - he's missed some sitters from open play this season and does seem to suffer from the odd rush of blood... not a good combination for a penalty taker for me.

It's based on absolutely nothing, but I reckon Lacroix takes a great pen.

Mateta
Eze
Hughes
Sarr
Lacroix

Interesting that no-one fancies Wharton. You would think he could pass the ball into the side netting but goal scoring is something he should really step up on going forward

Fair point about Munoz, much as I love the bloke and he has weighed in with a few goals this season, I doubt I’d feel too confident to see him walking up to take one.
Although at least we know he’d hit the bloody thing and not try and sod about with the hop skip and a jump as he runs up or try to roll it gently over the line

As part of my build up to Saturday I've been enjoying some videos on the Club website and YouTube.

Although not a Cup game, it was our play-off final v Watford, at Wembley of course, that sparked this post. Watching Kevin Phillips take, and score, that penalty was, for me anyway, a real lesson in how to take a penalty. As soon as the ref blew his whistle Kevin ran up and thwacked the ball into the top left corner. The keeper was not expecting it so soon and Kevin had clearly made his mind up. No messing. Great. Watch and learn Ebs.

The video is also worth watching for Jonathan Pearce's commentary. Great style. Hope he calls the game on Saturday.

I still believe that the penalties will not be needed and we will do it in the extra half hour by 3-2, unless there will be coaching by Clattenburke
