Overzealous new 'WISE' stewards!

I wonder has anyone else had problems since these new agency clowns have been employed by CPFC in place of many of the regular stewards we used to have?

I've sat in my seat for 24 seasons now with my eldest son and a couple of his friends in the back row of the Whitehorse stand with only a wall behind us and we have never had a problem whilst occasionally standing until we reached this term of our premier league presence.

Even at the beginning we were rarely asked by the regular stewards to not stand but they were friendly and polite so we obligingly complied but since the arrival of these agency stewards this season it has gone farcical, so much so my son and I were told to sit down quite abruptly 30 minutes before kick off on Sunday whilst we were talking to other supporters we know in the stand yet there were numerous other supporters standing in the same area that were not approached.

During the game they will come up to us at least once each half yet they approach nobody else in the whole of row S as we keep a look out. One time were actually sitting down, albeit on the back of the chair and not the seat (mainly because I have knee and back issues), yet they sarcastically asked 'is that the way you always sit then' confirming we were sitting. Every time we ask why aren't you going to the other standing people but all they do is walk away saying they will but never do as we watch where they go. We have video evidence of these events which show we are not being rude or aggressive towards them in case they try to throw that at us as an excuse.

All we ask is that they be fair and keep the standards in all the ground. We don't want to spoil it for others but if block Z of the Arthur, block E of the Holmesdale along with the majority of blocks D & F, and of course the away area can all stand and not get hassled then why can't we?

We fully understand premiership rulings but we feel we have been targeted this season and it's been confirmed by people around us I know telling me that the stewards get told to keep an eye on our section by their manger pointing to where we sit before we arrive.

It's also been confirmed by a reply to a complaint my son sent to the club that they do concentrate on this area as it's close to the control room so proves we are an easy target being right by the stairs.

Everyone around us think it's ridiculous as we are not causing any problems or safety issues and are not obstructing the control room window , I can also assure you that we are not Whitehorse fanatics or yobbos, nobody near us complains and in fact a lot of them also stand from time to time and they are in rows in front of us but don't get challenged.

I've spoken to a few of the regular stewards who used to steward our end and they know we are not a problem and agree we have always complied with them but the new regime have gone a little OTT. I was also told that the regular stewards were told just before the start of the season that this agency called WISE were coming in but they could also stay on but would no longer be senior stewards as WISE will be in charge, needless to say there were a few step downs. Also talking to some that have stayed on these new agency staff are bullying the regular stewards and have little or no training on people management which is why they come across as aggressive and rude and complaints are going in thick and fast from stewards and fans alike.

If this is happening all around the stadium I would like to know as we now have an ongoing complaint which is going as an official complaint via the Supporters Liaison officer as an upgrade from the initial complaint due to their reply admitting the agency staff have acted incorrectly.

If anyone has a complaint about these new stewards, or any steward, in regard to anything as well as standing issues then they should send their complaint to:-

nicola.gibbons@cpfc.co.uk

Again we understand premiership rules and respect if we were affecting other supporters enjoyment, which we most certainly aren't, but feel this has gone too far this season and these so called 'WISE' staff get removed or properly trained.

I'm looking forward to hearing anyone else's issues.

I’m in the Arthur block W in the upper section and for the whole game it is virtually all standing. The senior stewards know most of us and never try to seat us.
You are definitely being picked out and would consider you should complain about your treatment.

Saw a few of these guys wandering around if front of us in Block V of the Arthur, good luck trying to get that block to sit down!

Always happens with new stewards though, some get a bit power crazy, but definitely put in a complaint and I'd also bring it up with CPISA (Pierre on here) as they can bring it up at their next meeting with the club hopefully.

Only way they'll stop people standing instead of sitting is to bring those rail seats in, so people can actually stand safely, but that's all gone very quiet...

There are no current plans to install any rail seating into Selhurst Park until the New Stand is contructed. Then the club will look again at the 'Holmesdale Lower' stand.
