Our Trophy Cabinet

Location

I have no idea what happens with the cup situation. When you win a FA Cup and I take it you get to keep it for a year? What happens after someone else wins it? Do you get a replica to keep in the trophy cabinet to show you have won a cup or what?

Other clubs might. We'll probably get a keyring.

Yes that’s right. I also have a full size replica FA Cup on its way to me - and the Charlton-supporting wife doesn’t know it yet.

My mates got a picture of him holding the fa cup at West Ham when they won it, great idea for kids to get a picture and maybe hook them for life! A trip around all the local schools with each kid having a pic holding the cup would be a nice touch, and maybe put a few numbers on the membership list! As to your question I have no answer, but i"m sure a replica can be purchased with some of the prize money for our trophy cabinet!

Apparently the FA cup trophy is returned to the FA by March 1st 2026, our trophy cabinet contains various silverware from play off finals to the full members cup, I assume these are replicas but look impressive so I’m sure the club will display a replica of the FA cup once the original is returned, I’ve been on a couple of stadium tours and the trophy cabinet is the first thing to see certainly worth a visit.

I have to say after a few beers the other day I was tempted to order one myself .I think it was around £800 with the ribbons ?

But yes it came up as I was generally searching for some FA cup stuff on the web . I must say there is a load of crap out there with chancers producing tat for the gullible market . A two inch high FA cup for £20 ,a picture of Eze celerating the goal , a print of the crowd or some weird artwork thats at least red and blue but what else was going on who knows .
I suppose the moral of the story is stop drinking and dont answer the door to the Amazon delivery man this morning :drunk:

I actually saw the trophy cabinet the other day and was very surprised at how much silverware was in there. No idea what it all was, next time I’ll take a photo.
If you’ve got time to brush the cobwebs away 🤣
In all seriousness though, there should be at least 4 play off finals, a ZDS trophy, a division two and a division one to move aside for the fa cup

I think there was a set of cutlery in there, a couple of snuff boxes and a tin of paperclips 🙂

Many years ago, when we won the, I think it was the old Div. 1 cup, at the following Open Day you could have your photo taken with it (for a fee, naturally) and got to collect the print a week or so later.

Still got mine somewhere........ but a good way of doing things

When I worked for Barclays they sponsored the PL. I had my photo taken with the trophy when they brought it into Canary Wharf.

I figured (wrongly) that this would be the closest a Palace fan would ever get to a major trophy. 😀

In the mid/late 90s when Palace used to have a pre season open day i remember being quite impressed with the trophies in the cabinet - both number and size etc. On closer inspection i noticed many were from pre-season tours etc - the largest one was presented to the club for playing a pre season tournament in the Isle of Man in the 70s!

At the time Wimbledon were sharing the ground so they also had a cabinet. I couldn't find the FA Cup amongst their trophies. Eventually i saw a mini replica, probably no bigger than 6 or 7 inches. I suspect clubs have to pay for a full size replica and they didn't.

I did the stadium tour about 18 months ago and the trophy cabinet was kind of like a wooden cabinet in the middle of a corridor, so hopefully the new stand will give us something a bit more substantial! Good that we've got something decent in there, think there was some kind of paper mache thing in there from a friendly or something!

I got my photo taken with the ZDS cup back in the day, would be great if they did that again with the FA Cup!
