Offside

Usual absolute bull. No doubt Dermot Gallagher says it's fine and dandy so it is. You're either offside or you're not obviously. Just because of how bad Liverpool are is the reason for this.
He does. His line is that since this agreement has been in place for a few years everyone should have been aware of it and so not surprised now. Jay Bothroyd pointed out that it's never been mentioned before but old Lizard Boy wouldn't have a bar of it.

I've been saying some kind of tolerance is needed for ages now, it gets around the 'When the ball was kicked' issue, whilst ALSO giving benefit of the doubt to the attacker. 5cm seems a bit miserly though.
But there is no way they've implemented it based purely on how the VAR Results are presented to us - with exact lines and the new semi-automated graphical 'walls'.

If they have implemented it, without disclosing the fact that is really bad form from an already heavily criticised system/organisation.

It was said last night on motd by the pundits (including ex-manager gary o'neill) so it's not a secret or not something invented by dermot gallagher.

Only in this country though, not in rest of europe. The one thing i'd argue is that wirtz looked more than 5cm's offside and there's been closer one's than that given as offside.

Like when Guehi was too close to a wall, will be how this is implemented. Whenever they want and for big sides

I just think a mistake was made yesterday that the pgmol thought that they'd release something that covers their own back.

that fulham disallowed goal (although grateful as we were) against us at the cottage was closer than wurtz yesterday but thankfully they didn't employ that 5cm rule thingey!!

I hate VAR and would always vote against its use . Its accuracy is questionable and its growing involvement is an insult to the pitch officials .
The linesman must be having a nightmare of when to flag ,when not to flag ,its offside but I have to wait Whats all that about ?
And now we hear there is a tolerance ,an area of debate decided by people in a room dressed in referee's uniforms 200 miles away .
I really hope someone sees sense one day and gives us our game back ,let the lino put his flag up when he thinks its offside , let the ref over rule him if he wants to and get on with the game without all these 3-4 minute breaks in play

The games simple ,its why its played all over the world ,why do we insist on making it complicated ?
