No Guehi or Wharton in England Squad

After last summer's international related exhaustion perhaps no bad thing though might be a blow for both of them

And completely nuts based on ability of those who are selected instead

But could be because they are not going to be available because of the head injuries suffered in the final. Maybe we will find out in the press conference

EDIT - No, Wharton is in the U21s again. Criminal omission.

The head injuries must be the reason because as much as Tommy Tuchel knows Challobah there's no way he gets in at Guehi's expense. Jordan Henderson is a strange choice.

Perhaps Tuchel likes an old head or two in the squad.

Say what you like about him (well, don't), but he has been around the block.

I'm delighted they are not in, but that delight is dampened by the fact that Wharton is in the Under 21 squad.

Guehi has had no break since last summer's international tournament.

Wharton has had injuries resulting in him being unable to put in a decent run of games.

As far as I'm concerned this season ends after the Champions League Final.
I'd rather watch paint dry than watch international football.

Both players are injured….am I concerned that both players are not being put at further risk and selected for meaningless games…..no !

No disputing that fact but Talksport on Wednesday reckoned he's leaving Ajax to be Gerrard's assistant at Rangers (if Gerrard actually does go back of course).

BBC Sport can reveal that Tuchel phoned Guehi on Thursday to explain that he didn't want to risk re-injuring his eye.

Tuchel made clear to the Crystal Palace captain that he remains vital to his plans but felt he needed to focus on recovering from the eye issue.

Fair enough. Nice to see an international manager putting the player's welfare first.

Tuchel said he was not going to make deals with managers about playing time for England players. He forgot to add unless the manager was a German mate from a couple of hours away on the Austrian border. Hopefully we start next season with the only fit squad in the EPL. Danke Herr Tuchel.

Hopefully, yes, but we have other, non GB, international stars in our squad.

And Thomas Tuchel says Jordan Henderson has been picked so he can run coaching sessions and set the standard

He certainly set a new standard by assisting Ajax in squandering a 9 point lead in the last 5 games

I don't think he rates either of them that much. He had Wharton with the U21 last time - where Carsley practically never used to pick him until Tuchel forced him to.
Guehi only played in one of the last two WC qualifiers whilst Konsa played in both and Stones was missing
Tuchel also said that he picked Chalobah because he was playing so much better since he went back to Chelsea. Maresca might not agree . He was an unused sub in their most recent game, crucial for their Champions League chances

Starting to seriously doubt Tuchel tbh. Picks pensioner square pass Jordan Henderson and leaves out the prospect which everyone else in football highlights. Pathetic.

So have I, but I'm not expecting to be picked.

Backwards passing, slow and finished
