Palace are currently joint first, alongside QPR, Birmingham, and Watford, in the list of clubs who've appeared in the FA Cup Final without winning it.

If we lose on Saturday, that'll be our third cup final defeat, and will put us in a clear lead. Something to soften the blow when the final whistle sounds.

(on the other side of the ledger, the club with the most cup final wins without a single defeat is Wanderers, who were dissolved in 1887)

We’ve actually drawn one as well, so it’s not all doom and gloom 😁

I'm wondering how many clubs (of a certain size) like us have not won a major trophy.

It's easy enough to find a list of non winners but many of them are minnows so it's not surprising.

I guess I am asking about those clubs who are around our size, of course it's subjective but I would expect any club that has been around for 100 years, has spent much time in the top 2 divisions and has a decent attendance record should be in that group.

Fulham, Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth are currently non winners.

You could argue that both Brentford and Bournemouth are really minnows enjoying their first real spell of success.

It’s hard to believe now that Pompey and Wigan won the cup fairly recently, they’ve had tough times since, but you can’t take away those memories from their fans

Didn't Brighton win it in the 50s? Like 54 or something. Pr1cks.

Also, dude, like WTF?!

I noticed this too a while ago and have kept it to myself!

No, they've never won a major trophy either.

Although I once did hear one of them claim their 1910 charity shield win counted... LOL I think back then it was invitational or something, they certainly hadn't won anything to get them there
That's pretty funny as I've spent maybe the last twenty years thinking they have and we haven't. That lifts a whole weight off my shoulders. Rubbish club
