It was never a conspiracy theory!

It was, and remains, a theory. A possible explanation. One that the circumstantial evidence made appear feasible but which the lack of cooperation from the Chinese made impossible to verify. Which remains the case today.

None of which matters in the context of how we responded. However it occurred it needed to deal with it. Suggesting more openness and cooperation from the Chinese will be true in almost all circumstances but we needed to react with or without it.

It might appear to be proven in some minds but whilst the Chinese remain uncooperative it remains unproven.

Promoting diversity, equality and inclusion is a natural development in any mature society. Climate change is a scientific fact. Being passionate about protecting the future for our children is just being responsible. No religions involved. Religion demands faith in the unproven.

Typical. Isn't that how theories work? Any theory is unproven until it either is or isn't. Trump has to be seen as jumping on a bandwagon instead of just agreeing with a theory whereas your theories have to be treated as gospel.

That’s the point. The same standards ought to apply to Trump but he, and his supporters, seem to think otherwise. They think he is above the law.

That I express my opinions positively doesn’t mean that all are facts. Some will be. Some will be disputed. Many difficult to prove either way. Hence opinions.

Interesting read but still a lot of unproven info.
My opinion is that it was an outbreak from the Wuhan lab that indeed was covered up poorly by the Chinese.
The pandemic was also very poorly dealt with by many governments hence the carnage that ensued.
We were all royally f***ed over by inadequate responses and next to or no planning for such an event.

I rarely, if ever, jump on bandwagons. My opinions are my own. I don’t trawl through the blogs of the self opinionated looking for ideas I can embrace.

I don’t think Trump has many opinions. He says what the moment demands.

It just wasn’t!

They did what they had to do given the circumstances and knowledge that existed at the time.

Hindsight being a wonderful thing. We are having the enquiry to determine what lessons can be learned but I predict the lockdown and vaccine sceptics will be bitterly disappointed at those lessons.

Because I very much doubt they will be that we ought not have locked down, but rather that we ought to have gone earlier and more decisively.

We know that the Pfizer vaccine was withdrawn in favour of others with even lower side effects. That makes sense. Campaigning as though all vaccines are more dangerous than no vaccines at all is scurrilous scare-mongering and a disservice to people's health.

Retaining a degree of scepticism is healthy. It encourages careful analysis and better understanding. Publishing statistics without their context is unhealthy. It worries people into taking poor decisions.
