Now have we missed a trick here, with Ben Chilwell playing well in the LWB role, and still only 29, should we bring Mitchell into the 3 CDs, i think he is undoubtable our best defender, some may say he is too small, he 5 foot 11, Guehi is 6 foot, i know an inch can make a big difference sometime, but not at CB maybe.

Not sure Lanzo. I think he has a lot of pace and I always prefer taller centre backs. I felt that Guehi wasn't the strongest in the air and could have done with an extra couple of inches. Ooer missus.
Plus Mitchell has been improving in attack over the last year.

Give over, just as we get cover for him, you want to move him out of his position 🤣

Seriously though; it worked with Clyne on the other side so could be worth seeing how he gets on. But I think we have better options at RCB this year, so unlikely to happen.

No. The whole idea of Chilwell is to share the load at left back with Mitchell. The amount of games we will get makes this idea a priority especially if we do well in the cups. So far Chilwell looks good giving Mitchell a well earned break. Great to see.

Yes, i also think that if Tomiyasu can stay physically fit, and get match fit, still only 27, along with Chilwell could be the premier leagues two best signings of the season.

[Tyrick Mitchell](https://www.google.com/search?q=tyrick+mitchell&kgmid=/g/11f0wln_jl) has consistently established himself as one of the most reliable and highly-performing left-backs in English football over the last four seasons. While often described as "underrated" on the national radar, his statistical rankings place him among the elite defensive full-backs in the Premier League. [1, 2, 3]
The breakdown of where he ranks across key metrics over the last four seasons shows his progression:
## 1. Elite Defensive Output (Tackles & Interceptions)
Mitchell's primary strength is his defensive duelling. He consistently ranks near the top of the league for volume: [4]

*
* The Tackles Leader: Over the 2025/26 season, Mitchell remarkably ranked 1st among all Premier League players for total tackles.
* Prior Seasons: In the 2023/24 and 2024/25 campaigns under Patrick Vieira and Oliver Glasner, his defensive actions frequently ranked him in the top 10% of all European and English full-backs for tackles won and percentage of dribblers tackled. [1, 3, 4]
*

## 2. Squawka & Statistical Performance Rankings
According to positional performance indices like Squawka, Mitchell has cemented his spot as a top-tier Premier League left-back: [2]

*
* In the 2025/26 season rankings, Mitchell finished as the 4th best left-back overall in the Premier League with a 65% performance rating.
* Excluding foreign talent (like Piero Hincapie and Marc Cucurella), Mitchell ranked as the 2nd best English left-back in the entire division, trailing only Nico O'Reilly. [2]
*

## 3. Fantasy & Dream Team Metrics
For broader performance over time, official fantasy tracking showcases his durability and consistent output:

*
* In the 2024/25 season, he finished 9th overall among all Premier League defenders in the Sun's Dream Team rankings, racking up 226 points.
* In 2025/26, he maintained his status as a premium asset, recording 16 clean sheets and ranking joint-7th for big chances created in his position. [3, 5]

## Summary over the Last 4 Seasons (2023–2026)

| Metric / Area | General Rank Among English Full-Backs / Defenders | Key Highlight |
|---|---|---|
| Defensive Duels & Tackles | Top 3 | Ranked #1 overall in the PL for tackles in 2025/26. |
| Overall Left-Back Ranking | Top 5 | Consistently matches or beats regulars like Luke Shaw and Ben Chilwell. |
| Durability & Minutes Played | Top 5 | Played 37+ games in three of the last four seasons. |

Though he has only earned a handful of senior caps for England since his international debut in 2022, his numbers place him right behind standard national starters, frequently generating consensus that he is among the most underutilized natural left-backs available to the English setup.
