Midfield pair for Final

Wharton and Kamada controlled the game wonderfully the other week, very composed.
Hughes to come on when we're a goal up with 15 minutes to go.

Going to sound mad, but because it's City and we did so well in the home league game I would start with Hughes and Lerma and use Wharton and Kamada from the bench
Not mad at all…I think you could make an argument for almost any combination of our 4 midfielders to start

I like the idea of Wharton coming in as a sub to frustrate City if we can get a goal up before bringing him on. Probably to replace Hughes after an inevitable yellow card.

Wharton could easily be on the bench. Just due to having had a slight knock or strain recently. But I would wonder if it's best to risk him or play how we did against Spurs. I noticed that Spurs tried packing the midfield but it didn't work; it also didn't work when they bypassed the midfield. We looked like we had a tactic for it. Munoz was playing narrower a few times and Hughes was everywhere. He swapped with Munoz and Sarr a couple of times. There was good interchange on the right. It's not the same on the left but, obviously, Eze is getting a slightly freer role. We've looked very good tactically the last couple of games.

Yep agree with all that. One of the underrated things about TM is he's good at looking after himself defensively, so whilst Eze does come back to cover and block, it doesn't really matter that he's not a tackler.

It's City. We have to play to our ceiling and Wharton is the one with the highest. He also had a great semi. I think we need to score first and bringing him on when we are down is less effective
Hughes has done all he can to make the starting lineup and he looked much better than Kamada against Spurs but the latter did have his best game of the season against Villa and I think Glasner will go with him
