LFR's in Croydon

I'd prefer they prevent knife crime rather than catching people after the fact. This is clearly about catching criminals and improving crime clearance statistics. It's not about any actual public safety.

. . . & only Croydon it seems. How do people feel about it, Big Brother finally arrived?

Just put on a Keir Starmer mask before you mug/stab/run over anyone - that'll confuse them

my basic understanding of the Law is that 'they can film us and we can film them'........but they certainly don't like it. It was funny in the clip below when he accused her of 'misgendering' him.

Considering the number of 'social auditors,' and 'journalists who will happily argue with anyone who attempts to stop them filming wherever and what ever they want and that quite a few of these seem very keen to film other people who work in the public service, I find it amusing that some of the same groups of people object to being filmed and havi g that film analysed.

Personally I can't be that worried especially if it does something to improve safety in the town centre....

They have been using face recognition in Croydon for a while now.

Truth is, the place is so bad now that any and everything has to be welcomed, even if only for a potential deterrent factor.

I am instinctively wary of the technology, and have almost zero faith in any Governing institution at the moment but something has to give. And given central Croydon is already the definition of dystopian, why not go the whole hog with it?
