Seems like an interesting enough case. Clearly constantly harassed and finally snapped. I'd say he will get done somewhat however. Imagine trusting the gards to protect you. Naive or what.
In this situation, you get a crew armed with bats and hammers and you pay them. You keep them fed and a couple of drinks and happy. Then you beat the living s*** out of all the c**** coming onto your land for a few days, a week. When the gards call on you, you tell them to come back with a search warrant. Or you don't even answer the door.
Then if they try to do you for anything, you pay for an alibi: play these scum at their own game. Oh well, too late for that now.

Ah the Irish solution.

A Paddy mate owned a pub in Lewisham he closed it for a few days to re decorate only to find squatters had broken in.

I don't know exactly what happened but he did tell me he made a few phone calls and the squatters decided to vacate the premises if you get my meaning.

Lucky he had only just started redecorating the premises, blood stains never really come out and it's better to paint over them. 😀

When the law tells you their "hands are tied". Or, more likely, won't show up or show up a day late, you've no real choice.
In my city one eighth of houses have been burgled in the last seven years. 10,000 burglaries. We used to be a high trust, low crime society. But all the knackers and illegals are emboldened these days. Police and courts not fit for purpose. A bit like most of Britain.

In fact, I was incorrect. 17000 burglaries. There are only 80,000 people here.
 
The shooter has walked out of the Court, scot free. However, he will be looking over his shoulder forever. There is one estimate that his defence cost him a million quid.

Most online commentary seems to have sided, with the shooter, against the deceased. Although the whole issue is grey.
