It's to do with two immigrants raping someone? That's to do with immigration. 🤷🏻♂️
And this thread is about protests which have turned violent, just like Ballymena 🤷🏻♂️

They're totally comparable really aren't they?
Good for you 👍🏻And this thread is about protests which have turned violent, just like Ballymena 🤷🏻♂️
I'm frankly disgusted with what I've heard about the case in Ballymena. But it's not even that that caused the riots. It was actually the lie of not speaking English and pretending to know nothing.Different, but certainly parallels.

People were willing to let justice take its course before that. The boys, who go to school in the area, and speak English at school and in the street and as they took turns to carry out their sex crimes, suddenly couldn't speak English when arrested.
It's a small community - everyone knows. You can't lie like that and get away with it. Well - so people thought. When the victim's family heard, through their solicitor, they had concerns which they brought up with friends and neighbours. They don't want the boys getting away with this, or dealt with leniently. Their daughter will have to see them everyday if they're not sent down or if they don't move.
I think this could be described as an attempt to get them to move.
I'm not really seeing the similarities to people who are illegally in a country. Have they been sex assaulted by Trump?
I can understand what you mean. I wouldn't call the LA riots an insurrection personally. More opportunist. I already commented about Mexican flags being waved - it seems a weird way to have a riot about wanting to stay in a country. But I can understand desperate people being forced into things. Anybody can be sometimes if it's almost life and death. Or your own family. It’s not the cause of the protests that’s the issue. If they’re guilty and the above is true I hope they get the book thrown at them and put away for a long time.
The issue is then the ensuing protests that turn violent. We have one that seem to be shrugged off because people seem to agree with, or have sympathy with the cause, a la Southport, and the other which is apparently an ‘insurrection’ because they don’t.

I can actually quite understand immigrants feelings about the potential deportations. But I also don't know how such ingrained illegal immigrant communities can be moved on without quite draconian measures. One thing I would be tempted to suggest is pay people to leave. It might actually cost less in the long run. Have an amnesty now - offer payment. Those not taking that can apply for citizenship based on merit. Process them quickly but the others will be subject to forcible removal. It's about the fairest way I can think of.
I find it quite astonishing however that people commit serious crime when in a host country they wanted to come to. Those that do - what kind of people are they? Seems ridiculously entitled to me. I wouldn't live abroad and commit serious crimes in the local community. But then again, a lot of countries would just "sort" that without much law involved. One of those places was Northern Ireland - which some people may be advised to remember, or perhaps educate themselves on some local history.

I expect them to not do it if they want to stay there. I expect integration but I don't seem to see much of it. Albeit there is some.Mexico has many of the most murderous cities on the planet. Statistically.
'Asian Grooming Gangs' have existed in 'Asia' for hundreds of years.
Some cultures have a relaxed attitude toward spitting in public.
do you expect an habitual murderer to atone for his crimes before emigrating to someplace new ?
