Kidney Disease Stage 3

Routine blood test to monitor cholesterol level highlighted eGFR, well below normal and resulted in further blood tests which are showing a rapid decline in my readings.

No one in my family have ever suffered from kidney issues, which apparently shows no symptoms until flow reading falls to below 20.

My reading has fallen from 57 to 41 in some five months and just curious if other posters have suffered similar.
I am approaching age 75 and have been fortunate to avoid any health issues to date and apart from this issue, enjoy excellent health.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Sorry to learn about this Jacey. Always a nasty shock to be told there may be a problem. Assume your GP is on the case and arranging specialist care if necessary.

There are plenty of videos and useful snippets online and this one seems sensible.

I've got a whole host of medical issues and have regular blood tests every 3 months. The last one has shown that I am now at risk of diabetes, so I'm cutting down on the bourbon. Out of curiosity I checked my eGFR and it shows 82.

I'm sure your doc will be able to suggest ways of getting things under control. Fingers crossed eh? Anyway, good luck.
