Jeffrey Schlupp

I think that’s how I feel about him, certainly not the best player we’ve ever had, but also not the worst, as you say, he had his moments that stick in the mind
He was Sam Allardyce's first signing for our club.
I believe the deal was £9 Mill rising to just over £11.5 Mill.

Schlupp has played in numerous positions in his career and he had the ability to turn and shoot with minimum back lift.

A good signing that we probably should've moved on a couple of years before we did - it feels like it all got a bit sour as his performances nose-dived towards the end.

Overall he was undoubtedly a good addition to the squad who had a couple of very decent years.

Have to agree - a versatile player but never a regular at Leicester, and the same at Palace.

I quite liked him at left back but i think his most effective position was on the left of a 3 main CM in a 433 under Vieira and Roy.

However, when played in a more attacking position on the left when Olise was injured (and Ayew played on the right) for the first 15 or so games a couple of seasons ago he looked lost, which both surprised and disappointed me.

Now seems the obvious time to part ways as he has rarely played under Glasner other than late sub appearances and is/was on decent money.

Best moment for me was when Schlupp scored against Bournemouth in an evening game at Selhurst about 5 or 6 seasons ago when we down to 10 men after about 20 minutes when Sakho was sent off.
Remember it well. He ran from the halfway line!
He was always one of my favourite players.
Had that rare gift of gliding along.
I will miss him.
All the very best Schluppie!! 💙❤️

I've posted on here about JS before and I think my opinion may be slightly different to others but nonetheless:

- He has played numerous positions for us and I am unaware of him ever complaining about this.
- He was rarely injured.
- He has been here a long time.
- He had superb athleticism - was quick, a powerful runner, strong, great leap and although looked a bit lackadaisical and fat at times, always kept going.
- He was a half-decent defender.
- He could run with the ball, decent dribbling.
- He was quite direct in attack, I never underestimate or appreciate that, bit like Sarr.
- He could LASH the ball! Whether that be in from out wide or at the goal itself, often on target with devastating effect.

If you wanted a utility man, Schlupp was certainly that. Nothing but positive memories and gratitude from me, was one of my faves! Farewell and thank you the Jeffrey.
