Everton transfer stance on £15million signing after playing only 34 PL minutes

Jake O'Brien joined the Toffees in the summer from French side Lyon for £15million but has played just 34 minutes in the Premier League, has struggled to impress Sean Dyche and has suitors elsewhere

It seems that Dyche is not impressed with him and the prefers older players.

Reading the old thread on him someone posted he's a championship player and I suspect they maybe right. Still, not upset that Everton overpaid for him, just sorry that we didn't get the money.

We are being linked with several Lyon players at the moment, beware Greeks carrying gifts.

I had a look into this with some fans. Apparently the fans rate him and wonder why he didn't start ahead of Keane - but the issue is now that Brainthwaite is back - Tarkowski and Brainthwaite are starting every match. It seems the fans like what little they've seen of O'Brien - but he's not as good as Brainthwaite and Tarkowski.

Hard to argue with Dyche's defensive team selections - yes Pickford has got them out of a few scrapes but they have one of the better defensive records in the league outside the Champions' League places.

I think he's better than Championship level myself and could play for any lower or mid level Premiership team without being below par.

Players fall out of selection sometimes, it happens, it doesn't always mean they are lower level.....Hell, back when we were near the bottom of the Championship, that reality saw us buy and acquire plenty of players who boosted us and kept us in the Premiership.
