Home fans in the away end at Anfield

Location
Vlissingen, Netherlands
Country
Netherlands
Am I the only one to be appaled by the amount of Liverpool fans in the away end last Sunday? I found the atmosphere rather timid and only properly understood it at the end. Think at least a quarter to a third of the away end was taken up by home fans. Now I can see this being difficult to avoid completely but especially after our Cup win the week before it was rather disappointing.

With what happened at yesterday’s parade, this is all you’re appalled about?

I didn’t go, but from what I see on the box, a good time was had by all at the game, and even the scousers were very complimentary of our fans who were there for the respect they showed the Liverpool team and their celebrations, so why spoil it?

The original poster has started a thread to say he was appalled by something that was relevent to him and took place on a different day to that horrific incident that happened yesterday. He hasn't compared the two or said it was more appalling so i don't see what the problem is.

For all we know he may have also commented on the pages dedicated to what happened at the parade.

So me bringing this up makes me indifferent about what happened at the parade in your view?

And what exactly am I spoiling?

I was at the game.

The welcome that I received from all the Liverpool fans I met with was a huge improvement on my first visit in 1977 - but that's another story.

All I spoke to were highly complimentary about our club and our fans. It was truly a day for Winners.

The atmosphere was fantastic on Sunday. And yes, there were more than a few Liverpool fans in the away end. How they got there without buying them from qualifying Palace fans I don't know.

The events of Monday are totally unrelated. And regardless of which team you support, that was shocking and not to be wished on anyone.

There were a few in with us but I didn't see too many problems. They only opened one gate at the end probably to stop the locals who were hovering just outside. Overall we got a great welcome in the city it's terrible what happened on Monday and could just of easily happened to us, in these strange times.

I don"t blame them for getting in any way they could to see the presentation, and as long as they didn"t cause any problems I wouldn"t be bothered, I was in the city end at the cup final as the same tickets were £200 cheaper than like for like in our end! If i celebrated our goal , which was directly in front of my view, I would have deserved a slap, i didn"t and and enjoyed the experience!
