Why does it irritate you? Are you involved in some way? Or are you just nosey?

If a suspect's name isn't released then there will be a solid reason why. Usually, I believe, because of the danger their defence lawyers would be able to claim a fair trial isn't possible because of the publicity. Polluting the jury pool to such an extent is then considered to be such a risk that it's better to keep things quiet until after the trial. That way justice can be more certain to be done. Surely that's what we all want? Staisfying curiosity doesn't contribute to justice.
 
There's another rape on the immigration thread with the name withheld and we all want to know. Please pop by and explain why not.

No, the job of law enforcement these days is to cover up and play down the epidemic of crime carried out by illegal immigrants and existing ethnic minorities in the population.
