Every time you see a TV report that shows a crime taking place, any faces of the perpetrators are fuzzed out. Today I hear reports of professional gangs engaging in organised shoplifting - costing businesses millions a tear ( and us as the cost will be passed on to us eventually). They are going to use facial recognition cameras to pass information on suspects on to other businesses in the area - to put them on warning! Sensible idea but why not get rid of this requirement to fuzz out facial shots on news reports? It is time the law looked after society as a whole rather than ‘privacy’ rights of the criminal.
