to answer the OP, you decide for yourself.
have a look at the top and bottom of Society.
Top = the head of the Church of England, Downing Street, The Cabinet, Mayors of many cities & towns. Top Civil Servants.
Bottom = the prison population, the poorest neighbourhoods in the Land, the long-term unemployed and Social Housing, places of high statistics for single parent families, deprivation, drugs, and crime. The homeless.
worrying isn't it ?

Or maybe flip the answer upside down......
Winners......those who reproduce a lot, arrive a lot into the Land, and form only a small part of death statistics, and are broadly increasing their ownership of the private property of the Nation, fastest growing trends like diet, religion, language, etc. Newly numerically dominant in certain industries & professions.
Losers..........those who fail to reproduce, emigrate away, and die a lot, selling-up and owning less Property than previously, dying-out cultural artifacts like diet, religion, and music. Casting less of a shadow in certain industries & professions.
Controlling the drugs trade and other organised crime ? top or bottom ? financially the top but they are the scum of the earth.
Anybody fancy jellied eels, Whelks & a Chas & Dave album ?
bloody worrying , don't you think ?
Now Project your trends forward to, say, the year 2050. Not so much worrying as a fait accompli. And ask yourself, where are the worst places for shoplifting and other petty crime ?
