He seemed like a bluffer the whole time but Man U seem like a hard team for anyone to manage. He had been really successful before, not that I particularly know much about it.
Overall, I'd say the slow build up Dutch style seems to have been largely replaced by a high pressing style and Man U don't seem quite set up for either style.
They need to choose what kind of football that's going to make them win and get the personnel in to do it.
In the meantime, if they choose someone like Southgate, it will be more of the same. He might get the youngsters playing a bit more. They seem strong enough at youth level. That will be a positive for them.
Their ground is also starting to rival Selhurst.

Most hilarious thing I can imagine is Man U getting Klopp - which I know won't happen but it would be truly wondrous to see the reactions. Next best for fun would be Mourinho - which is clearly not impossible. He has defensive stability and will stabilise the club for a season or so.
Just with the INEOS guy, their Textor, you just think Southgate will be there.

He’s probably happy chilling and having a break .

Maybe he’s plotting a palace come back . Let us build up a great team . Wait until OG leaves and then step in and take the credit for our next trophy . Maybe Europa next year .
