I'm off sick today (genuine). But that means I can watch the cricket.
Australia 2-0 up in the series already.
I'm expecting an England reaction today. The bowling attack needs freshening up in my opinion - and I've never been convinced by all the part time spinners. Zampa and Rachid - they are the spinners out there.
England's batting needs to be more consistent. Could they do with Root? Clearly missing Buttler. I think they should go more attacking personally. Lots of wickets from silly decisions. Make a decision - and go with it. Some half arsed wickets in this series so far.
Plus fielding, keep the men on the boundary FFS. They are your catchers here. Sick of seeing England back peddling when the Aussies go for sixes. The Aussies have more discipline in the field and it's showing.
Anyway, starting soon.

Good catch from Carse to get rid of Smith. This really could go either way at the moment. Nice to see Archer back, our attack was a bit one-paced without him.

Some pretty naive bowling at the end has probably lost this game. Can we get 305? Doubtful even without Zampa. Would like to see Salt get more than 12.

One of the things that bothers me about bowling first is the other team can learn how to bowl in the conditions by analysing your bowling. Seems to be a pattern in this series.

Early at present. Salt out though, of course. I'd hazard a guess he won't be touring.
You'd think not. A first class average of 33 just isn't enough however quickly he scores them.
Brook just got lucky with the caught behind appeal.

Indeed. I was thinking about 250-260 would be a decent score but it's hard to know. It looks quite even between bat and ball currently. Zampa is someone that can change games - we'll see.

312 has to be competitive. Great power from Livingstone at the end. When it works for him he's a real destroyer.

Proved to be too much for the Aussies. There was quite a bit of seam and a bit of swing. Australia probably lost on both batting and bowling today. They won't be happy but England will be elated.
I don't think it's entirely the Aussie's best side currently but they couldn't be considered to be weak. Probably could have done with an extra seamer today.

Yes they were a seamer light but that must have stung a bit. Head and Zampa both back and they got well beaten. Makes a change to see the Aussies crumble.
