So we managed to beat Andorra 2-0. I didn't see the game but the home representatives of the Best League in the World needed an own goal to help beat a country with a population smaller than High Wycombe.

It was abject. A bit like watching Man City on a bad day when they pass the ball across the field one way and back again without anyone trying to inject pace or make a run. Sadly Ebs did absolutely nothing to press his case. Marc did fine but as expected against Andorra, was not tested. Not sure anyone played well, but the pundits seemed to think Anderson and Madueke were the best picks. In my view Madueke lacked any quality in his final ball.

I kept an eye on Anderson mainly because he was playing in Whartons spot . He missed so many opportunities to pass the ball into players that were free in front of him I thought Tuchel would hook him at HT . Players were making runs they just were not being put in
Maybe it was because it was his debut but playing safe v Andorra wasn't what we needed . A fit Wharton walks into this team .
 
Great result weathered a difficult start. But our class showed in the end and ran out worthy winners, that's enough about the women's rugby team, the football was shite never thought I would enjoy women's rugby more than a england mens international.

Villa Park was never full and by midway through 2nd half it was probably just over half full.
Boring stuff. If we can't do better than that we are not going anywhere. Lacking in imagination. That team badly needs a Wharton.
 
What we must remember is that Andorra, with another 30,000 or so would be nearly as big as Crawley.

England are doing the same thing again and again. Risk free, slow, sideways football.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting it to work.

If they'd upped the tempo and ran at them, would it matter if they lost possession a few times? It would
encourage them to open up from the packed defence that has shown to blunt Guardiola style tactics.

If nothing else it would be a bit more entertaining for the punters.
If England won anything playing like that it would be a bad day for football.

and this must be the ugliest team of players that England has ever fielded.
 
OK, so we won the game, but it was a dull, unexciting and tedious match to watch on TV. No wonder there were loads of empty seats at the ground long before it ended. I kept switching channels to try to find something more stimulating to watch.

It cemented my belief that Tuchel is not the right man to energise England football.

He still looks as though he should be in a post punk band. Maybe playing keyboards for the Gang of Four.
