Elderly employees. Heroes paying tax. The Croydon-Roy effect.

So, you get to age 66. Do you immediately down-tools and get your pension ? or do you decide to keep on working ? cos it gives you a more meaningful existence ?

Surely the government should recognise your heroism with generous tax breaks or double the pension stamps ? or preferential NHS service ? or the ability to bequeath a larger tax free sum to your kids ?

We have the likes of Roy, putting on a suit & tie and putting in a shift at an elderly age. And then we have many able-bodied longterm unemployed types. Aged in their twenties. Never did a day's work in their life. What would the neighbours say ?
